The only thing that doesn't get a 5 is the food (it is often bland). Otherwise, Ralston Creek is great. The staff are very caring, and more importantly the facility is well staffed. My in laws are happy...

I moved into Ralston Creek about a month ago, and I’m unfortunate not enjoying it very much. The rooms themselves are large and the place is generally clean. I do think that the housekeeping needs to vacuum better. I have not seen them clean the carpets in the hallways since I moved in. I don’t feel that the caregivers are very well trained, and they generally seem incompetent. The chef uses too much salt, sauces and gravies cover every dish, and portion sizes are too small. They do have activities like movies in the afternoons, classes nearly every day, bowling every week, and church on weekends, but overall, it hasn’t been a great stay.

My mother stayed here till the end. They feed them very good food but that was the best of it! She had a room to herself, a two bed one bath with a shower. It was nice she didn't have a roomate. HOWEVER, they would help her out of bed, get to the dinning room to eat, then move her to a chair and that is where she stayed...ALL DAY! She needed a walker but couldn't get far by herself without falling, so they would move her walker out of reach. She fell out of bed many times and they had to call the fire dept to come get her off the floor, which we had to pay for. They'd tell her "it's shower time", she'd say no, that was it, NO Shower! She'd go a week without a shower unless one of us MADE them give her one while we were there visiting! They did have activites like kicking a ball around, playing cards, drawing and sitting in front of the TV watching old movies. It was over prices for a daycare center! She went down hill fast!

This review is for the skilled nursing facility for short-term rehab. If you are expecting exceptional care, skilled care, compassion, assistance with ANY IADL/ADL task in this exceptional luxurious facility, then this place IS NOT for you or your loved one. They do a a wonderful job admitting you then it's quickly downhill from there. They have adequate staff around the clock, just not adequate enough to tend to or provide you the sufficient care necessary for you to get better and return home. They kept my MIL's door closed almost at all times. That's attentive, alright.... They took longer than 30+ minutes every single time to tend to her. This included accidents that could've have been prevented. The professionalism and demeanor is insulting considering the field they are in. This includes the management staff. I hope DOH steps in and requires the company to retrain the whole skilled nursing staff and team. Please discuss with your doctors/loved ones before agreeing to transfer here.
